2022/2023 Scholarship Award Essay Question
 
NOTE: Please provide a two (2) page response to the following questions below.
In Matthew 6:33 we are told “To Seek Ye First the Kingdom of Heaven.” What does this Biblical scripture mean to you? Explain how this scripture will apply to your life as you transition to seek higher education?  Lastly, what is your plan to continue Seeking the Kingdom of Heaven?
Please incorporate scriptural references and/or other references to support your response. Your response should be no longer than 2-pages, single-spaced, 12-point font.

Each applicant must submit an essay, the Application, and PDF of his/her transcript via email to the following email address Edmin@crenshawchurchofchrist.com no later than Sunday, June 4, 2023.  An application received after the due date will not be considered. All applications submitted will receive a confirmation of receipt email.
 
Any applicant that has questions or needs any additional information can send an email to one of the Crenshaw Scholarship Committee members before the Application due date.

Question 1: What is the Crenshaw Family?
 
Answer: 1: The Crenshaw Family represents Christians who study the Bible and worship together at the Church of Christ, Crenshaw, located at 2719 W. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., in Los Angeles, California.
 
Question 2: What is the Scholarship Program?
 
Answer 2: The Scholarship Program is an incentive program that recognizes, encourages, and rewards academic achievement.
 
Question 3: Who is eligible to participate in the Scholarship Program?
 
Answer 3: 1. One who has been baptized into the Church of Christ.
 
2. A member of the Church of Christ, Crenshaw who studies the Bible and worships with other members of the Crenshaw Family.
 
3. An active member of the Church of Christ, Crenshaw for at least six (6) months prior to being considered for a Scholarship award and who regularly participates in worship and bible class.
 
4. One who is currently enrolled in a high school who has been accepted to an accredited 4-year college or university for full-time studies in the next fall semester.
 
5. One who is currently enrolled in a community 2-year college who has been accepted to an accredited 4-year college or university for full-time studies in the next fall semester.
 
6. One who is currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university for full-time studies in the next fall semester.
 
7. Graduating High School Senior and Community College/University student up to age 25 years old.
